If you could live in any TV home, what would it be and why?
This was a no brainer. Both my wife and I came up with the same answer. I would love to live in Chip and Joanna Gaines home from the show Fixer Upper. With four kids and a busy electronic world racing around us, the thought of having a beautiful farm home with loads of animals and space to escape and create memories is extremely appealing to us. A safe haven for what matters, yes please.
What is the most courageous thing you've ever done and why?
As a successful trainer making a decent living in Toronto with one child (at the time), my wife and I felt called to flip life on its head and move from the East coast to the West coast. We relocated to Kelowna,BC over 6 years ago. I sold my business and started fresh from scratch when we moved. Re-establishing everything on the opposite coast provided us with the pressure and discomfort we needed to grow in so many areas. It has not been easy but it has been worth it. Adding three more kids to the mix since then seems pretty courageous too. Being a Dad takes courage.
If you could choose your own rockstar name, what would it be?
This is hard. I always say POUND and the POUND Posse are single handedly responsible for this almost-40-year-old father of four maintaining his "cool" card. Maybe I could be called Holden Kool? See how I did that, used a K to spell "cool". Is that still cool?
What's something you never leave home without?
If I wanted to be honest I would say my smart phone. Shamefully, I feel naked without that thing. If I want to be sappy, I would say my kids. Each one of them holds a slice of my heart.
What's one thing you're certain of?
I am certain that as an imperfect human, I will fall short, I will make mistakes, I will have regrets BUT I will never regret doing my best to live out my faith, extend love freely and be the best husband and father I can be.
