Fall is finally here, people! Can you tell we’re excited? But we have to be honest, along with our excitement, we’re feeling the cooler weather, munching on the yummy comforting foods and we’re much more motivated to hang out watching a movie snuggled up on the couch then to get out and fit in a workout. That’s why we’ve created a list of tricks so we can stay fit and fierce this fall, and not FALL off the wagon. (See what we did there?)

5 tricks to stay fierce this ROCKTOBER:

Take away Technology.

This one is simple. Observe your behavior with technology for one week. Are you picking up your phone first thing in the morning and missing out on alone time with your loved ones? Are you trying to multitask in the car while almost getting into accidents? Are you unable to disconnect from the TV at night and get lost in your favorite shows for hours, night after night? If you’re cool with these things, then keep doin’ em! You do you, girl. But if you’re not feeling like your best self, try removing one technology habit at a time. See how it changes the way you function on a daily basis. For us, keeping the TV off at night means a long run outside or a few hours with an inspirational book. Take a break from tech and see how you feel (and let us know, too!)

Fall in Love with Fall Produce.

The frisky fall weather brings an abundance of healthy fall produce! Find your local farmers market and fill up your basket with cauliflower, brussel sprouts, apples, squash, sage and pumpkins, all rich in nutrients and comforting in the colder months.

Don’t let the weather be an excuse.

It gets cold in the fall. (Yes, even in California.) The “it’s too cold” excuse is all too familiar to us 🙂 Here’s how to kick that excuse to the (snow-covered) curb:

  1. Buy a cute fall workout outfit; it’ll motivate you to get outside (or to the gym) and show it off to your workout buddies!
  2. Stay inside (if you must!) and plug in your favorite playlist! Now, do an ASS PASS circuit or pop in your POUND Rockout Results System and rock with us to stay fit!

Tweak your favorite comfort foods.

Last fall, we tweaked our favorite comfort foods over a period of two weeks (and called it the #TwoWeekTweak! Remember?) It’s hard to resist all things cheesy, fried, and EVERYTHING pumpkin during the colder months… so here are a few recipes to try that won’t make you FALL off the wagon 😉

Obviously, it’s easy to ask Siri to create a quick note for you with the push of a button. We know that technology surrounds us. It’s everywhere. But we’re STRONG believers in putting pencil to paper. When you write something in your calendar, you’re making a commitment to yourself and you’re holding yourself accountable. There’s no better feeling than crossing something off of your to-do list. A written goal or action item brings focus and creates direction. And direction paves the pathway to success. So grab an old school notebook or your Fitness Journal and make a list all of your monthly goals. Schedule your workouts, your grocery trips, your meal prep time and a few dates with yourself and STICK TO THEM — just like you would a meeting or a conference call.
