07 Feb The POUND Beat Ballad
A NOTE FROM CEO & CO-CREATOR, KIRSTEN POTENZA
About 2 years ago, I was sitting in my office in Santa Monica. It was around 8PM, the office was quiet – I pulled up a blank page and began to write. Something started flowing, and at the time I wasn’t sure exactly what it was. I didn’t share it with anyone for a while, going in from time to time to tweak it, add a few lines – I was writing what I was observing at POUND. Over the course of the last few years I have seen POUND’s mission come to life.
I have watched you flourish and grow as a community, not because you all look the same or have the same interests, but because you are different. I have met the 82-year-old woman who rocks out two times a day in POUND class, the young girl who slayed POUND Pro training with just one arm, and even the middle school student who was confident enough to jump on stage with me and rock out in front of her tween peers.
The truth is that POUND truly is for everyone. These words and this video are our manifesto, our BEAT Ballad, and all that we believe in. It’s also a thank you to our community for walking the walk every day, supporting each other with such grace and love - and for not being scared to make a little noise. This video is for you, and it is you.
I hope you like it,
