Congratulations! You’ve hit the seven day mark! This is a huge milestone on POUND Tour to Summer and you should be very proud! The next stop on our virtual Tour To Summer is Seattle, Washington, home of the legendary Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix was arguably one of the most influential electric guitarists in rock history and it’s hard to not fall in love with his music, his passion, his stage presence and most of all – his spirit. One of his most famous quotes inspired our theme this week: “In order to change the world, you have to get your mind right first.” Your mindset influences all of your decisions, your intentions, and ultimately, your evolution as a person.
Let that sink in for a moment.
When you start a fitness challenge and change the way you’re using or feeding your body, you’ll feel the changes immediately… but they might not be what you expected. You might feel fatigued, brain fog, bloating or headaches. Believe it or not, these are all good things! Your body is and expelling all the toxins that built up over the months or years of unbalanced eating and/or sporadic exercise. It means that your balanced eating and POUNDing is WORKING!
The way your body feels is a huge factor in your journey – but like Jimi said, your MIND plays the biggest role in your success. Did you know that it takes 21 days to solidify a new habit? And that once you do, your brain is much more likely to go into auto-pilot, making all of the good decisions for you. Your Tour To Summer journey was built to kick-start healthy habits that last a lifetime. Together we’ll release old patterns and introduce a new way of life.
As we really sink into Tour To Summer, consistency will be the biggest challenge. You’ll begin to notice the challenges that come with committing to the POUND balanced lifestyle and you’ll begin to search for ways to better manage your time — because it often feels like there isn’t enough. You’ll realize that this isn’t just a physical challenge, it’s a mental one where every single little decision matters.
How have you felt mentally through your first week of tour? Take note of your answer and write it in your Fitness Journal. Your Journal is a great way to keep a record along this journey and to keep yourself accountable. This week, the road starts getting a little windy but around each bend — or each challenge — is something new and exciting! Revisit your goals from Week 1 and assess where you’re at and what you can improve upon even more.
As you go into Week 2, keep an eye on the blog for our advice on ways to make little decisions count and for two really filling BG-approved recipes. Search #poundtour on Instagram and Twitter to find and encourage your fellow POUND Posse members along their journey! Like and comment their pictures and encourage each other through the next 7 days (and beyond!).
Excuse us while we kiss the sky!
