What are your 3 earliest memories in life?
– Trying to hide a cooking mistake that involved a cheese quesadilla and my dog, Buddy. I accidently burnt it, and he was supposed to hide the evidence, well he unintentionally switched on me through his dance moves in the corner. The cheese was still hot and it kind of glued his mouth shut.
– I used to sneak and wear make up to fit in with who I thought were the cool girls… One day I forgot to wipe the evidence away and my mom found out my colorful secret. My punishment was a makeover that rivaled Tammy Faye Baker’s make up. It was terrible!
– Spending a few weeks with my dad during the summer when I was in elementary and having an amazing spaghetti dinner, watching the garbage pail kids movie. The next morning we had ice cream sundaes with blue bell homemade vanilla for breakfast.

Who’s your favorite rockstar (actual or figurative) and why?
Carmen because he was an out the box musician for the gospel genre in the late 80s and early 90s. I didn’t really appreciate how amazing he was until I became an adult and thought about how he was unapologetically who he was as a musician and lived/thrived in his God-given purpose.
Lizzo is also on my list for this same reason. Her speech was amazing and caused me to develop a new appreciation for her.
What’s one thing you’d tell your 13-year-old self?
Be unapologetically you. Put more focus on releasing the greatness that God put in you and less on boys and what others think of you. You were created to stand out NOT fit in! Focus more on loving you and the right people will come into your life at the right time. Take risks… Make Mistakes… Learn from them and be better because of them.
