Katie Rowland is an energetic ICON living in Boise, Idaho. Katie has an academic background which includes a degree in Exercise Science, a diverse set of specialty programs, and certifications in Personal Training and Group Fitness. Her first POUND experience was the day that she walked into POUND Pro Training where she instantly fell in love. POUND was the missing piece to help her continue reaching for new heights after breaking through the shell of social anxiety. Katie understands the power that can come from a supportive fitness community and that is her biggest passion as an ICON and fitness nut. “Finding the fun in fitness” is her motto and her hope is that you leave each class and training with a smile, and a little sweat too.
What’s the one thing you always tell your class before starting?
Leave everything at the door—this time is for you to have fun and give it your all.
What’s your secret weapon for building confidence in your students?
Creating a space where everyone feels encouraged and celebrated, no matter where they are in their fitness journey.
What’s your go-to music genre?
Pop punk! Some of my favorite bands include Fall Out Boy, Blink 182, and AFI.
What is your first POUND memory?
My Pound Pro training. The gym manager mistook me for the ICON leading training that day. Did they see something in me that I didn’t see yet? That moment has stuck with me and I believe it guided me through my own path of becoming an ICON.
