LEARN ABOUT POUND

To ensure safety, each participant should have approximately 6ft x 4ft of space. This means, while standing in place, each participant should be able to extend their arms with the Ripstix® 360 degrees around the body and should also be able to step back into an unobstructed lunge.

POUND is a full body cardio-jam session inspired by the sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums. POUND was born from a simple but powerful realization: movement feels different when it’s driven by music.

A POUND Pro is a licensed instructor who brings the full POUND experience to life. Pros lead classes that blend rhythm, movement, music, and empowerment, creating sessions that feel more like a rock concert than a workout. They inspire their communities, help people reconnect with their bodies, and build classes that are fun, accessible, and seriously effective.

Yes!

POUND classes are designed to be inclusive and accessible for all ages, fitness levels, and abilities. Throughout class, your Pro will guide you through clear options for movement and technique, so you can adjust the intensity, pace, or range of motion in a way that feels right for you. You’re always in control of your experience, and success looks different for everyone in the room.

Always consult a healthcare professional before participating in any exercise program. Inform your Pro before class if you require any modifications specific to your body and needs.

Your Pro is there to support you. With the right adjustments, you can still tap into the rhythm, feel the energy, and be part of the experience in a way that works for your body!

Ripstix® are the signature POUND equipment and the secret behind the workout that turns music into movement. They’re bright green, lightly weighted, and designed to amplify every squat, strike, lunge, and twist with a surge of energy you can feel from your fingertips to your core.

These aren’t drumsticks. They’re built specifically for exercise with the perfect weight, grip, and durability to support high‑intensity, rhythm‑driven sessions. Every strike reinforces the beat, boosts muscle engagement, and transforms your workout into an immersive, full‑body experience. Whether you’re teaching or taking class, Ripstix® make you feel powerful, grounded, and ready to ROCK.

Instructors love them because they help participants stay connected to the music, move with purpose, and unlock more strength with every repetition. Participants love them because they’re fun, motivating, and instantly iconic. If you’ve ever wanted a tool that brings out hidden energy and keeps people coming back for more, this is it.

Ripstix® are durable. They’re portable. And most importantly, they turn every class into a celebration of rhythm and movement.

If you want to elevate your POUND experience and bring the thunder into every track, get your hands on a set of Ripstix® and feel the difference for yourself.

Yes, Ripstix® are POUND’s proprietary product and are required for any POUND format. You can order your own pair in the POUND Shop and on Amazon.

Ripstix® are bright green, lightly weighted, quarter‑pound exercise drumsticks created specifically for POUND.  They’re shorter than a standard wooden drumstick, but they create a similar sound when they hit the mat. The big difference is in how they’re engineered.

Ripstix® are made from durable, high‑quality plastic that can handle repeated impact, fast movements, and long sessions. They support proper form, help activate upper‑body muscles, and are built for safety throughout every strike and repetition. Because they’re made from non‑porous material, they’re also easy to clean and disinfect between classes.

Traditional wooden drumsticks not built for high‑intensity fitness use, can splinter or break with repeated impact, and are harder to sanitize because of their porous surface.

Ripstix® are a core part of the POUND experience, giving you the feel of a drummer with the function of a fitness tool.

You can learn more about Ripstix® here.

You can snag a pair of Ripstix® in the POUND Shop and on Amazon.

POUND Rockout. Workout. is our signature group fitness program. Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.

Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up, and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeal to rockstars of all ages and abilities.

All you need is an exercise mat and Ripstix®, our lightly-weighted exercise drumsticks. You can order your own pair in the POUND Shop and on Amazon.

Generation POUND®’s Activities complement the start-and-stop, free-play structure of children’s natural patterns of physical activity. Each Activity is designed to promote up to 5 key learning outcomes – self-expression, confidence, musicality, teamwork and leadership. Activities are strategically placed within Lesson plan progressions and class PLAYlists. Each 2-part Activity features an introduction (the Why), key learning outcomes, the tools and preparation required and step-by-step instructions.

Generation POUND® was created not just as a workout geared towards kids, but a MOVEMENT. Generation POUND aims to change the concept of health and fitness for today’s youth. How? By introducing alternative ways to, MOVE, ROCK, PLAY, and MAKE NOISE!

Intended for children 6-12 years old, classes are taught by licensed Generation POUND Pros at gyms, hospitals, nonprofits, youth fundraisers, schools — anywhere looking to add fun fitness experiences and more!!

Choreography (the movement part of class!) looks and feels a lot like POUND’s choreography, adapted with students grades 1-6 in mind!

POUND Unplugged offers a more intentional, condensed experience that blends movement with mindfulness and is designed in two distinct segments that guide you through both effort and recovery.

The first 20 minutes are dedicated to the signature POUND experience. You’ll ROCK through high-energy movement that builds heat, elevates your heart rate, and challenges your performance. From there, the focus shifts into mat-based work that supports strength from the inside out.

The final 10 minutes are your RESET. This portion of class brings everything back down with guided breath work, stretching, mindfulness, and meditation. It’s a chance to reconnect, recover, and leave feeling grounded.

POUND Unplugged isn’t just about the workout. It’s about creating space for both intensity and intention in a way that supports your full experience.

POUND Unplugged is a 30-minute class that balances focused, high- intensity movements with restorative stretches, breathwork and meditation. Quick, efficient and challenging, the workout guides participants through a deeply intentional journey designed to promote the health and fitness of the whole person – mental, physical and emotional.

Using Ripstix®, our lightly-weighted drumsticks, POUND Unplugged connects mind, body and sound to create immersive, sensory experiences unlike anything you’ve experienced in a group fitness class.

Visit the Find a Class page. You can enter your city, zip code, or region, or search by instructor, program, or language.

Each class is added by the instructor, or POUND Pro. What you see reflects the information they’ve shared with us. Click on a Pro’s headshot to view their PROfile and see class details, social media links, and other contact options.

Because every instructor and venue runs their classes differently, registration and scheduling on the POUND website are handled by the Pro. If you need more details, or if you want to double‑check anything before attending, reach out to the Pro or venue directly.

You can try our on-demand workouts on Backstage! Click here to get started with a free trial.

Once you find a class that interests you, click on the instructor’s headshot to open their PROfile. There, you can see their class details, social media links, and any contact information they have chosen to share. Most Pros manage their own registration process and will direct you to a sign‑up link, a studio website, or their messaging platform of choice.

Because each venue and instructor handles registration differently, we do not book spots on behalf of Pros, or control class schedules or updates. Reaching out to a Pro directly through their shared contact channels is the best way to confirm details or secure your spot.

Your safety always comes first! If you’re injured or recovering, get clearance from your healthcare provider before attending a POUND class.

Once you have clearance, talk with your POUND Pro about your injury. Pros can offer modification options, adjust movement intensity, and guide you toward choices that feel supportive instead of stressful.

If you feel unsure, it’s always better to pause, check in with your healthcare provider, and return to class when you’re ready to ROCK!

Your safety is the top priority. If you’re pregnant or think you might be, you should get approval from your doctor or licensed healthcare provider before attending any POUND class or enrolling in a POUND Training. Every pregnancy is different, and your provider is the best person to tell you what movements and exertion levels are appropriate for you.

Once you have your doctor’s permission, here’s what to do:

If you’re attending a POUND class

Talk with your local POUND Pro before class. Let them know you’re expecting so they can offer modification options, help you manage intensity, and guide you toward movements that feel strong and supported.

If you’re attending a POUND Training

Reach out to us directly before your training date. We’ll help you connect with your ICON, and we’ll make sure they’re aware so they can support you with modifications, pacing guidance, and anything else you may need throughout the session or, worst case, we can reschedule your Training. We’re happy to be flexible!

Listening to your body is key. If something feels uncomfortable or too intense, you can always slow down, modify, or pause. When you’re cleared by your doctor, comfortable in your movements, and ready to ROCK, we’ll be right there with you.

BECOME AN INSTRUCTOR

Not at all! POUND Pro Training, Generation POUND, and POUND Unplugged are open to everyone. You do not need teaching experience, fitness certifications, or a specific background to jump in. If you bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a desire to ROCK, you’ll fit right in.

If you do have prior experience in group fitness, coaching, or movement, it may give you an extra boost as you grow as a POUND Pro, but it is never required. Our trainings are designed to support beginners, seasoned instructors, and everyone in between.

Not to worry! You can still participate in the training without Ripstix®! You will simply want to set aside extra time once your Ripstix do arrive to review and apply key learnings from the training day!

Absolutely not! Your ICON can help you modify your movements during the training so that you make minimal noise. The important thing is that you understand HOW to teach POUND safely and accurately.

A virtual POUND training is an 8-hour course that will provide you with everything you need start teaching POUND! Attending a virtual training provides you with a similar experience to our in-person trainings. You will receive the same manual, a pair of Ripstix, and a live ICON (aka, master trainer) who will guide you through the day.

You’ve chosen to attend a POUND training because you want to teach others how to move through a POUND class with safety, accuracy, precision and confidence. To do this, not only must you be able to see your ICON but they must be able to see you. By using the webinars video capabilities, you will be able to:

        • Move “alongside” your ICON and fellow participants
        • Observe your ICON and fellow participants move and therefore learn by observation
        • Receive feedback from your ICON to help you improve and fine-tune your movement quality and instructional skills

Video and/or audio recordings of all POUND trainings and education are strictly prohibited.

Screenshots taken by participants are strictly prohibited. Your ICON will take a few screenshots throughout the day and will alert everyone before doing so. This will allow anyone who prefers that their picture not be taken step out of frame.

To provide the best and most educational training experience for both you and your fellow attendees, we ask that only you attend the training.

Each participant is required to have their own registration. The ICON will verify attendance throughout the training day and your friend’s name will need to be on the roster.

Our goal is to provide inspiring, authentic, and personal experiences unique to the participants in attendance. Therefore, a participant maximum is set for virtual trainings.

Once your training is less than 20 days away, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your shipping address. If you register for training on the day-of training and do not receive the aforementioned email, click here to go directly to the Ripstix Request Form.

Depending on when you claim your RIpstix, they may not arrive prior to your training day. If that happens, not to worry! You can still participate without Ripstix® and then you’ll be ready to rock when they arrive!

*If you do not claim your Ripstix within 30 days of your training date, you will forfeit your complimentary pair.

I'M A VENUE OWNER/OPERATOR

Only single sets of Ripstix® are available for sale on The Shop. Larger packages of Ripstix (15 sets, 25 sets, and 50 sets) are exclusively available for sale to licensed Pros and POUND Venues.

If you’re a licensed Pro with an active subscription to The Label, you can access the PRO Shop through your account on The Label. If you’re a gym owner/manager, you can enroll your venue here. Once approved, you will get access to the Venue Hub where you can purchase Ripstix.

We currently do not allow venue partners to resell Ripstix®, but participants can feel free to order individual pairs on our website or on Amazon.

POUND Pros can update class schedules directly through The Label. Log in, head to My Profile, then scroll to the Classes section. From there, edit existing classes, update times or locations, or remove any sessions that are no longer being held.

If your Venue needs approval, you can fill out our Venue Enrollment Form here.

Venue managers cannot update classes.

Becoming a POUND Venue means your facility is officially recognized as a space where licensed POUND Pros can teach and grow their classes.

When your facility is listed as a POUND Venue, you’re not just adding a format to your schedule. You’re offering an experience that attracts new members, strengthens community engagement, and keeps your current clients coming back for more.

Why it matters for your business

Being a POUND Venue includes several powerful benefits that support both your programming and your bottom line.

  • You will appear on our Find a Class list, allowing new participants in your area to discover your facility
  • You will offer a high‑energy, music‑driven workout that appeals to all fitness levels
  • You will support your instructors with access to The Label, where they’ll receive choreography, music updates, marketing tools, and ongoing education
  • You will increase member engagement with a class format that feels like a concert, a sweat session, and a stress release all in one
  • You will create opportunities for community‑building events, themed classes, and special workshops led by your Pros
  • You will stand out with a program that has global recognition and a loyal, passionate following

Why facilities love it

POUND brings in participants who might not connect with traditional formats. The blend of rhythm, intensity, music, and fun makes it a standout addition to any schedule. Facilities often see improved member retention, stronger group fitness attendance, and a boost in community energy.

If you’re ready to elevate your group fitness offerings, becoming a POUND Venue is a powerful way to bring fresh energy, new members, and unforgettable classes into your space.

Here’s how to get your program up and ROCKing.

1. Get your instructors trained

POUND formats can only be taught by licensed POUND Pros, so the first step is choosing which of your instructors you’d like to send to a POUND Training. Trainings are available both in person and online, and they’re open to anyone with a passion for movement, music, and community.

Once training is complete, instructors will receive their certification and immediate access to The Label, our online instructor platform where they’ll find everything they need to teach successfully.

2. Equip your team with Ripstix

All POUND classes require Ripstix, our lightly weighted, signature exercise sticks. Bulk Ripstix packages are available in the Pro Shop and Venue Hub in The Label.

3. Use The Label to launch your schedule

Every active POUND Pro receives:

  • New music and choreography releases
  • Marketing materials you can use to promote your new classes
  • Class planning tools and teaching resources
  • Pro Perks, discounts, and ongoing education

These resources make it simple for your instructors to build a strong program and keep your members excited to come back.

4. Add your classes to our website

Once your instructors are ready to go, they can submit your facility and class details to appear on our Find a Class map. This helps new participants in your area discover your offerings and connect with your instructors directly.

Pricing can vary based on the instructor’s location, experience, travel needs, class length, and the type of event you want to host. It is best to contact the POUND instructor directly to discuss pay rates for classes.

You can find a POUND instructor on our Find an Instructor page here.

Click here to view and complete the Venue Enrollment Form.

The Venue Enrollment Form must be submitted by the person who’s authorized to enter into agreements on behalf of the facility. This is usually the group exercise manager, director, or another decision‑maker who oversees programming.

If you’re a POUND instructor, you’re welcome to share the form with your facility contact, but the official submission has to come from someone with signing authority.

If you’re holding a private class or have your own space, you are more than free to fill that out yourself.

You can submit a Venue Enrollment Form here.

POUND does not provide a standard waiver. Check with local regulations and guidelines to know what is required in your area.

To verify an instructor’s status, head the Find An Instructor page. If you don’t see your Pro, make sure to let them know to update their settings in The Label to become searchable!

If you think a non-licensed Pro is leading classes, please fill out the Brand Infringement form found under My Account in The Label.

All POUND programs are pre-choreographed, but Pros have the creative freedom to structure their class Set List + Class Design using POUND tracks. In addition, instructors may choose their own song for the Cool Down track. For POUND Unplugged, Pros have the creative freedom to choose their breathwork + meditation tracks for the RESET portion of the class design.

If you have some choreography that you’re dying to share, you can submit it to us for approval one of two ways:

  1. Upload the video to YouTube as an Unlisted Video, then send us the link here with the subject line “CHOREO APPROVAL”

    OR

  2. Upload the video to Vimeo as a password-protected video, then send us the link and password here with the subject line “CHOREO APPROVAL”

Please include with your submission a written list of all the Label techniques you have used in your choreography.

Please allow up to 4 weeks for choreography feedback and approval.

Please note: If your choreography is approved, you can only use it in your classes!

No, you may not brand a POUND class as a hybrid class. However, you can do two distinct classes back-to-back, like a 30 minutes barre class followed by 30 minutes of POUND and marketed separately.

If you’re looking for a fun, music‑driven workout you can do anytime, Backstage is the perfect place to start.

Yes! Backstage workouts can be streamed offline. Our streaming partner, Uscreen, allows you to download workouts directly to your device so you can move without an internet connection.

Here’s how offline access works:

  • Downloaded workouts are available for up to one month

  • Once downloaded, you can play the workout anytime while it’s available on your device

Offline streaming is a great option if you’re traveling, working out on the go, or heading somewhere without reliable internet access.

Backstage by POUND offers two subscription options. You can choose either monthly or yearly.

Important note about accounts

Backstage by POUND and The Label are two completely separate platforms. They don’t share login information automatically. If you already have a Label account, you’ll still need to create a new Backstage account. You’re welcome to use the same email and password, but Backstage won’t recognize your Label login unless you set it up manually.
