Katie Rowland is an ICON living in Meridian, Idaho with her husband and three children. Music has always played a major role in her life. Growing up Katie was involved in concert band, jazz band, and drumline, playing clarinet, saxophone, and percussion instruments. In high school, she was the Drum Major for the marching band. Her first POUND experience was the day she walked into POUND Pro Training. As expected, it was love at first strike. Katie has an academic background in Exercise Science which includes a degree and a Functional Training program, as well as her certifications in Personal Training and Group Fitness. Katie values the importance of finding a community to be a part of and that is her biggest passion as an ICON and fitness enthusiast.
What are your 3 earliest memories in life?
Getting my first cat, Tigger. He was my best friend all through school, moving out after high school, and being there for my kids when they were little!
Watching crime shows with my Grandma.
Playing board games with my grandparents.
If you could live in any TV home, what would it be?
This is an easy one… Harry Potter! And based on the quiz I took with my daughter, I’d be in Gryffindor house.
What’s the first thing you do when you get home from a trip?
Unpack, start laundry, and love on my kitties. (We have three cats Bella, Pepper, and Ember)
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
It’s not who you are that holds you back… It’s who you think you’re not.
If you had two hours left on earth, what would you do?
Go to an island with my husband and scuba dive our hearts out.
What activity do you do that makes you feel most like yourself?
POUND is definitely at the top of my list because it combines my love for music and movement. I also like hiking, scuba diving, and playing board/video games with my family.
What’s the best thing that ever happened to you?
Finding my husband early in life. We are high school sweethearts. Can you guess where we met?… Yep, Band!
