BREATH RATIOS: BOX BREATHING 02

Box Breathing 02 starts and ends with box breathing techniques and features even 4:4 ratios of inhales and exhales in the middle of each round of exercises.

Participants should breathe in through the nose and have the option to exhale through the nose or mouth. It is optional to keep eyes open or close. Participants should be sitting tall with their spines straight and their shoulders relaxed. 

There are no Ripstix strikes in Box Breathing 02.

Class can 1) Perform the rhythmic breathing exercise with their hands on their legs or solar plexus 2) Focus on a light, slow and deep nasal breathing pattern with their hands resting comfortably in their laps.

  • One count of 8: Intro
  • 2 counts of 8: Inhale for 4 counts. Hold the inhalation for 4 counts. Exhale for 4 counts. Hold the exhalation for 4 counts
  • 2 counts of 8: Inhale for 4 counts. Hold the inhalation for 4 counts. Exhale for 4 counts. Hold the exhalation for 4 counts 
  • 2 counts: Transition
  • 3 counts of 8: Inhale for 4 counts. Exhale for 4 counts
  • 2 counts of 8: Inhale for 4 counts. Hold the inhalation for 4 counts. Exhale for 4 counts. Hold the exhalation for 4 counts
  • 2 counts of 8: Inhale for 4 counts. Hold the inhalation for 4 counts. Exhale for 4 counts. Hold the exhalation for 4 counts
  • Inhale
  • Exhale
  • Return to light, slow and deep breathing
    • Option to repeat the round 1 to 2 more times, depending on your Posse
