Irish-based ICON Áine’s love for POUND started immediately after her first POUND class in 2017, it really was love at first strike! Having grown up dancing on stage and working as a full time primary school teacher, Áine realised that POUND fused together so many aspects of what she loved – education, movement, music and fitness. Within months, she jumped at the opportunity to train as a POUND Pro. Three years later, Áine is still as excited as she was that very first day to connect with people of all fitness backgrounds in the hope that POUND will inspire and motivate them in the same way that it does for her.
What are your 3 earliest memories in life?
Robbing my mom and my aunt’s dresses and high heeled shoes and dressing up in them with my cousins.
Making obstacle courses at home in our garden during the summer with everything and anything that was lying around from dad’s stables.
Getting my hair plaited before school by my Nana while drinking sugary tea!
What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?
Set off travelling with a group of strangers on my own! I’m afraid of my own shadow and it was the best thing I ever did for myself.
What’s the first thing you do when you get home from a trip?
I’m a neat freak, I make a cuppa and go straight upstairs to unpack.
What activity do you do that makes you feel most like yourself?
Singing along to the soundtrack of a musical at full volume, either in my car or dancing around my house.
What’s something you never leave home without?
My water bottle and a snack!
What do you want people to say about you once you’re gone?
That they could count on me for whatever or whenever they needed.
What’s one thing you’re certain of?
NOTHING is for certain!
How do you show your love for others?
I love surprising the people I love with little gestures at totally unassuming and random times.
Whom do you secretly admire?
It’s no secret, I think my Mam is the biggest ROCKSTAR I know!
