Arisa Suda lives in bustling Tokyo, Japan. She discovered POUND in Indonesia in 2018 and rocked out for the first time in Washington D.C. in 2020, and her life hasn’t been the same since!
As a child, Arisa was very active, taking classical ballet, dance, and yoga – she loves to exercise! When she first experienced POUND, she was fascinated by the feeling of being able to truly express herself. She was so moved by POUND’s philosophy that she wanted to do everything she could to introduce POUND to all of Japan. And now as Japan’s only POUND ICON, she gets to do just that!
What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?
I changed my job that had for the over 10 years to do what I love and become a POUND ICON. It was a long journey, and I studied a lot for it – more than my entrance exams! I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I made it to the end without giving up, and I am so happy that I found something I am deeply passionate about.
What’s the first thing you do when you get home from a trip?
I look back at the photos and videos over and over again. I don’t even think about touching my luggage or unpacking until the next day!
What’s one thing you’d tell your 13-year-old self?
Keep doing what you’re doing. Everything will be OK.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
It’s better to do something and regret it than not do something and regret it.
If you had two hours left on earth, what would you do?
Spend time with family. Planning with my sister what mom and dad want to do.
What’s one thing you’re certain of?
I’m certain that POUND can help physical health and mental health.
