Chelsea Stanley found POUND in 2018 and has not dropped her Ripstix since. She keeps busy teaching multiple classes in and around Victoria, BC, Canada. Pound has been one of the best things to have happened to her and she is excited to grow the Canadian POUND community and beyond! Outside of POUND, Chelsea is a hockey mom to an 11-year-old son, has a fantastic partner and works as a Marine Science Technician for the Canadian government.
What are your 3 earliest memories in life?
-Road trips with my Dad, listening to Elton John, Bob Seger, Rod Stewart and Don McLean.
-New Year’s Eves at my Grandmas with my cousins
-Vancouver summer vacations
If you could live in any TV home, what would it be?
Monica’s apartment from Friends – do I need to explain?
What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?
Travelled solo to South America to board a month long research cruise to Antarctica.
What’s the first thing you do when you get home from a trip?
Unpack! It needs to happen immediately.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
“Like water off a duck’s back” – a friend told me this once when I was dwelling on something I had no control over. Imagine it as water rolling off of a duck’s back – works every time!
What activity do you do that makes you feel most like yourself?
I am assuming everyone puts POUND here. Well, I am too because I have never felt more like myself than when I am doing POUND. It was the me I never knew existed and now I cannot imagine how I existed before it!
What’s something you never leave home without?
My phone, emotional support water bottle, lip balm, airpods
What’s the best thing that ever happened to you?
My son! He is the best! Nothing greater than having an awesome kiddo.
What superpower would you most like to have?
I would love to be able to talk to animals!!
