ICON Diane Robertson lived in Paris, France for years but has recently relocated back to the Gold Coast of Australia. While in Paris, Diane danced in the famous show Moulin Rouge before embarking on a career in fitness. Diane now runs POUND classes all over the Gold Coast and has taken an active role in helping to develop POUND in the Southern Hemisphere. Aside from fitness, Diane is also a professional photographer and loves the beach!
If you could have dinner with anyone from history, who would it be?
Hard to pick just one! As an ex Moulin Rouge dancer, I have to say Josephine Baker she is a legend in the showgirl world. Also Albert Einstein. And if I choose someone alive today it’s Isla Fisher, she is my favourite comedic actress…..and she’s an Aussie
What’s a great book you’ve read recently?
Haven’t read anything recently, but two of my all time favorites which I reread again and again are Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist” and “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
If you had two hours left on earth, what would you do?
I’d try to do all of my favourite things at once! So I’d get all my favourite people, both friends and family to join me on a hill with an incredible view of the ocean. There would be Mexican food, beer and espresso martinis, music (a mix of 80’s, 90’s and today), lots of daggy dancing and non-stop happy vibes until the end…..there might even be some ripstix in there too.
Who is your favorite rockstar and why?
Anthony Kiedis. After reading his biography I felt impressed by the huge challenges and dark past he has overcome and appreciate that the music never stopped. I like his voice and his showmanship on stage. I love all of the Red Hot Chili Peppers music!!
How do you show your love for others?
By going out of my way to be caring and thoughtful….whether it be giving a helping hand, sharing an experience, offering a listening ear or perhaps even making some kind of gift.
