Joanna Chua is an ICON from Singapore with more than 16 years of teaching experience in the fitness industry. In 2016, she added POUND in her repertoire of programs and joined the ICON team a year later. She strongly believes that POUND is an inclusive workout that is unique to what is already available in the fitness industry. Easygoing and cheerful, Joanna creates a welcoming environment for her participants to let loose, be themselves and release their inner rockstar! This fitness rebel is just as passionate about sharing her experience, knowledge and has a “let’s learn together” attitude in trainings too!

How do you help someone who’s stepping out of their comfort zone for the first time?
I will acknowledge their efforts to try something new and if possible, introduce a regular in my class who can buddy him/her. Make consistent eye contact and smiles through the class and also check-in afterwards.
