Leah Koch, originally from Florida and now an Atlanta-based ICON, is known for her contagiously positive and Muppet-like energy. Leah began her fitness career in Chicago as a professional dancer and earned her first fitness license in 2012, collecting many more since. She received her POUND license in 2018, the same year as her wedding (so much love at first strike that year!). Leah continues to teach nationally and internationally while balancing her role as a full-time marketing director and being a proud mom to her rainbow baby (though not so much of a baby anymore!). In addition to POUND, Leah is an All-Star PomSquad Fitness Captain, and it brings Leah joy to inspire others to feel confident, strong, and like they are enough (because it’s true!).
What’s one word or phrase that perfectly sums up your energy?
Contagiously Positive — come take a class or training with me and see for yourself! 🙂
What’s a non-fitness skill that makes you a stronger teacher?
My theatre and improv training! As a Northwestern theatre major who studied improv in Chicago, I bring energy, adaptability, and fun to every teaching experience, creating an engaging, welcoming, and judgement-free vibe.
If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
Born This Way by Lady Gaga — a bold, empowering, and contagiously positive earworm. It captures my vibrant energy, passion for authenticity, and dance-worthy zest for life.
If you could choose your own rockstar nickname, what would it be?
Leahbops! It’s been my nickname since middle school because I’m a big Cyndi Lauper fan. She is so much fun and her fans show up inhibited, colorful, and full of sparkles and sequins — and I love to bring this fun energy and love to every experience I create, too!
What do you want people to say about you once you’re gone?
Leah made me feel better about myself and I will always remember and carry her contagiously positive energy to myself and to others. I also believe Leah was a Muppet.
