MARNI PARSONS

Marni Parsons, born and raised in Moorhead, MN, has been with Target since she was 17—35 years and several promotions later, she’s still going strong! Growing up, she loved figure skating, from pushing her limits to performing at hockey games.

She has an amazing 27-year-old daughter in Fargo and two cats who keep her company at home. Marni never imagined becoming a group fitness instructor, but after trying Pole Fitness, she discovered POUND and jumped right into POUND Pro Training. Now, she’s all about helping others find their inner rockstar!

The POUND community fills Marni’s heart daily. Watching her students fall in love with POUND—for the physical, mental, or community benefits—fuels her passion. She’s here for it, every beat and every smile!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
You can’t please everyone so don’t even try

If you had two hours left on earth, what would you do?
Gather my friends and family and sing around a bonfire

What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?
Put mine and my daughter’s future first and became a single parent.

If you could have dinner with anyone from history, who would it be?
Princess Diana, she did her own thing, no matter what she was directed to do by the Royal Family.

What activity do you do that makes you feel most like yourself?
I really can’t think of anything other than POUND. I feel at home in front of my classes.

Whom do you secretly admire?
I once told my Dad he embarrassed me, it was the farthest from the truth and something I wish I had never said at 15.  My Dad made people laugh with his sarcasm, he was always there for his family, never missing a sporting event and taking other players to out of town games when their own parents couldn’t.  He never cared about what he had or having time to himself, it was all about us kids and my mom.

What’s the best thing that ever happened to you?
My daughter Emily, she is truly the love of my life. By the time she was 6, it was just her and I.  I am thankful every day for her and her kind heart and the relationship we have.

How do you show your love for others?
Give them my time and attention, that has always been the best way to show love to my family and friends, and what they want.

Who’s your favorite rockstar (actual or figurative) and why?
P!nk, she is genuine, real, unapologetic and will say what she thinks. Also, she is an amazing performer.

What superpower would you most like to have?
Time travel, so I could visit people I never was able to meet and travel back and see things in history (as long as I could safely get back 😉
