Erica Hamilton is an Ohio based ICON, located in Dayton. Growing up as a dancer, she pursued her college degree in Dance Education and Dance Performance. After many years of being a choreographer for youth musicals, dance studios, competition teams, and more, she switched gears to the fitness world in 2013. Erica became a Group Fitness Instructor in 2013 and started teaching bootcamp and strength classes. Later expanding her certifications to include Barre, Yoga, TRX, Dance Fitness, and more.
After following POUND for a few years on Instagram, she jumped right into a training in 2016 and found her soulmate workout. At her training she knew that becoming an ICON and training others was what she was meant for. Erica’s energetic and real approach to classes and trainings, will make you feel welcomed and right at home. She believes everyone deserves to feel like a Rockstar and do some hair flips!
What’s the one thing you always tell your class before starting?
That there are no mistakes, only drum solos. And we are here to let some stress out, have some fun, and maybe even meet a new friend.
What’s a non-fitness skill that makes you a stronger teacher?
Getting to know those who come to class. Asking about their day, life, why they came, etc. It truly makes people feel welcomed and step out of that comfort zone.
What’s your go-to music genre?
Anything Rock. You can usually find me singing along to any early 2000’s rock.
If you could choose your own rockstar nickname, what would it be?
Already have one, E-Rock! A friend in college always called me that and it stuck. I even used it as my Instagram handle.
