Mental and Physical Limitations Won’t Stop These Rockstars!

Meet Hannah Joe Franklin…mom of two, ROCKSTAR extraordinaire!

(POUND Pro, Generation Pro, POUND Unplugged Instructor, Knoxville, TN)

Hannah (in true POUND fashion) believes in giving back to her community, one that may not otherwise have an opportunity to make noise and ROCK OUT!

Hannah believes that “Mental and physical limitations shouldn’t limit our posse from enjoying the mental and physical benefits of POUND. Our platform should be heard and felt, by as many who are mentally and physically willing to do it. Knowing how it helped my own mental health, I wanted to find ways to share it with those who are often looked over or left behind.  The elderly, disabled and those with physical and mental limitations.  I was granted this opportunity at Hope Spring Adult Daycare.  The facility focuses on adults with dementia and disabilities.I started out volunteering my time at Hope Springs, teaching a seated POUND, in November of 2021. My very first class was only about 17 – 20 mins, but I immediately saw their faces change from scared and hesitant, to joyful smiles.  The owner, quickly saw the benefits it provides her residents and hired me twice a week. Each class they are excited to see me coming, ready to join in by getting loud and moving to some great music.

A resident recently shared that before POUND, she was sad and depressed. She said she is now always happy and is smiling after class, ready for more. The residents know the songs, the movements and are eager to continue to learn more. Hannah says, I’m forever grateful to have the opportunity to change their lives with a simple strike.”

We are grateful for you Hannah! Share your story or the story of a Pro or Posse member in your community by emailing us at: [email protected].
