Need a little pick-me-up and can’t make a trip to the Beauty Store? Our skin stands in line as our bodies defense against disease and infections, which is why keeping our face (the thing we touch multiple times a day) healthy, balanced and strong is extra important. Which is why we’ve whipped up three masks that you can make at-home with foods you’ve purchased from the grocery store.
We all have different skin types, tones, textures, concerns, and goals. Choose the best mask for you!
MOISTURE MASK: Add hydration back into rough, dry skin with this moisturizing mask. The omega fatty acids in avocado and olive oil help to heal + seal the cracks between skin cells while the soothing ingredients of honey and yogurt help to hydrate your skin leaving your face incredibly soft. Just make sure to rinse well around the hairline.
- 1 avocado
- 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
SENSITIVE SKIN MASK: For sensitive-skin types who experience redness, yogurt is the optimal base for a face mask as it is rich in probiotics and soothing skin proteins. Flavanols (like the ones you’re adding in the form of cocoa powder) calm irritation, while honey tightens the skin. This combination of ingredients is a gentle yet mighty trifecta.
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
REMOVE BLACKHEADS: Overwhelmed by blackheads? Honey is known for its amazing skin clearing and brightening properties. The combination of honey + organic cinnamon helps to deep clean the skin and get rid your skin of blackheads by removing dirt from pores. The honey then hydrates and tightens the pores for clear complexion. *** Do not use this mask if you have sensitive skin.
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- ¼ teaspoon of organic cinnamon
