Merry Merry Cranberry Smoothie

Total disclosure: we definitely indulged in our fair share of goodies before the holidays. Chocolate just kept popping up on our desks—and who are we to say no to Secret Santa?

Maybe you didn’t exactly stay in tip-top shape over the holiday season, but together we’re going to get right back on track. Although you might feel like your fitness and nutrition routine has disappeared down the rabbit hole this winter, we promise it hasn’t. We’ve whipped up a Merry Merry Cranberry Smoothie that’ll alert your bod that you’re back to your healthy, strong, ass-kicking self!

This metabolism-revving smoothie is made with the most simple, effective ingredients. It’s packed with antioxidants, fiber and the cleansing effects of cranberries. Those little berries can work magic, especially when it comes to cleaning out toxins and bacteria from your kidneys. Your kidneys are responsible for removing waste—and the healthier they are, the more quickly and efficiently they can process any excess you may have consumed.

We even added lemon and ginger, two powerful anti-microbials, to help clear your skin, boost your immune system and of course, rev up your metabolism!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 C orange juice
  • 1/2 C fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 C 0% Fage yogurt
  • 1 t organic honey
  • 1-2 C frozen blackberries, strawberries, blueberries
  • 1 medium red beet, cooked
  • Squeeze of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 C ice cubes

Combine all prepared ingredients in a blender and enjoy!

This smoothie is a perfect way to start the morning, or a delicious alternative to a cold, frozen desserts. Eat it with a spoon and you’ll feel like you’re eating berry sorbet!

We believe in balance. We keep our bodies healthy by eating delicious food, get sweaty in POUND classes, and stay lifted up by our supportive friends.

There’s no way that we’d let all that hard work slip away during the holidays, even though it’s a challenge to keep a balanced routine during the most wonderful time of the year.
