Can I still participate in a POUND class if I’m injured?

Your safety always comes first! If you’re currently injured or recovering from any condition, you should get clearance from your doctor or licensed healthcare provider before attending a POUND class. They know your injury best and can tell you what movements are safe for your body.

Once you have permission from a medical professional, you can talk with your local POUND Pro before class about your injury. Pros can offer modification options, help you adjust movement intensity, and guide you toward choices that feel supportive instead of stressful.

Every body is different, and healing looks different for everyone. Listening to your doctor, listening to your body, and communicating with your instructor are the best ways to keep your experience safe, strong, and empowering.

If you ever feel unsure, it’s always better to pause, check in with your healthcare provider, and return to class when you’re ready to ROCK.

Can I stream Backstage offline?

Yes! Backstage workouts can be streamed offline. Our streaming partner, Uscreen, allows you to download workouts directly to your device so you can move without an internet connection.

Here’s how offline access works:

  • Downloaded workouts are available for up to one month
  • You can choose from three video quality options, with the highest resolution up to 720p
  • Once downloaded, you can play the workout anytime while it’s available on your device

Offline streaming is a great option if you’re traveling, working out on the go, or heading somewhere without reliable internet access.

If you have questions about downloading or managing offline workouts, just reach out and we’ll help you out.

A credit card is required to access your free trial to BACKSTAGE but you won’t be charged until the end of your free trial.

Can my friends join?

    • Your friends can join if they register for training, too! Your training’s ICON (master trainer) will verify attendance throughout the training day and your friends name will need to be on their list!

Can we offer any POUND program on demand?

POUND programs cannot be offered on demand. This means instructors aren’t allowed to pre‑record POUND classes and post them online for participants to access later. Pre‑recorded or on‑demand content isn’t permitted for any POUND format.

Pros can teach virtually, though, as long as the class is live and hosted on a secured platform. Live classes protect the integrity of the workout, support real‑time coaching, and help instructors keep their students safe, motivated, and successful. They also maintain the energy and interaction that make POUND so powerful.

We also offer on-demand classes hosted by our ICONs on our Streaming platform, Backstage by POUND!

Can we stream Virtual POUND® Classes?

Due to COVID, we have opened up the ability to stream virtual classes for as long as the restrictions on in-person interactions exist. We’ve published a section located within The Learning Center on Virtual Instruction that is comprised of several blogs that cover best practices for teaching POUND virtually. Check out the Official POUND Pro Group on Facebook for more tips and tricks from other Pros around the globe who have been streaming.  TIP: Search Zoom in the search box on the left-hand side to show all posts related to streaming.

Do I need any special equipment?

    • No! Just a strong wifi connection, a computer, tablet, smart phone or other device to stream the webinar from, and a power cord and outlet to charge your device, an exercise mat or towel and space to move (4’ x 6’ recommended). When you register for training, a pair of Ripstix will be shipped to the address you provide.

Do I need approval to do an event?

POUND cannot be scheduled or booked at any convention or event, including an exhibitor booth or session/class, without prior approval and consent from POUND HQ. Any unauthorized use of the POUND name and/or logo is strictly prohibited.

Please submit the event for approval if you want to represent POUND at an event. Requests must be received 90 days (three months) before the event date.

If you are an event organizer soliciting sponsorship, an event coordinator seeking talent to perform or lead a group class for your organization, or a licensed Pro wishing to represent any POUND program at an event or host your own event, please email [email protected]

Please note: POUND properly vets each opportunity and ensures that each event can be maximized, managed, and supported. We ask that your email include the following event details:

  • Where is the event taking place?
  • When is the event taking place?
  • Who is the audience?
  • How many participants do you expect?
  • Are any other brands offering workouts?
  • Will the venue be equipped with a sound system?
  • Can you connect POUND HQ to the event organizer?
  • Can you provide a website?

Do I need insurance to Teach POUND?

Insurance requirements vary depending on where and how you teach.

If you are employed by a venue and are covered under their insurance policy, you may not need additional coverage. Many gyms, studios, and facilities include instructors under their umbrella policy, so it’s always worth checking with your employer first.

If your venue requires instructors to carry their own insurance, or if you teach independently, personal liability insurance is strongly recommended. Independent instructors often rent studio space, partner with community centers, or teach without a direct employer, and in those scenarios, having your own coverage is an important layer of protection for both you and your class attendees

You can find helpful insurance information on major fitness certification websites such as AFAA or IDEAfit. While POUND does not endorse specific companies, many of our Pros choose NEXT Insurance for their personal coverage.

Having your own liability insurance is considered best practice. The specific policy you choose should depend on what formats you teach, how you run your classes, and the level of coverage you feel comfortable with.

Do I need Ripstix for Backstage?

Yes, you’ll need a set of Ripstix® to get the full Backstage experience. Backstage workouts are built exactly like a POUND class, and Ripstix are a key part of the movement, the resistance, and the rhythm. They help activate the upper body and support proper form.

Using Ripstix during Backstage sessions ensures you’re moving safely and getting the intended benefits of each track. If you want the true POUND workout, Ripstix are essential.

If you need your own pair, visit our POUND Shop to grab one and maybe pick up some merch too!
